Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for December 18, 2020

General News

Great turnout for our online meeting yesterday! Thanks to the 35+ partners, co-owners and friends on hand to celebrate a spectacular year including some words from trainer Kelly Breen and a new member of our team beginning January 1st, George Adams.  Included with our update on all horses and groups and Kenwood Racing's plans for 2021 was the very happy announcement of cash distributions on the way to every member of the co-owner groups of Fire’s Finale, Tracy Ann’s Legacy and Adhwaa. Look for a year-end report for co-owners on all current horses-groups shortly.  Three wins from three starts this month gives us 19 wins for 2020 out of 92 starts. Kenwood Racing has been winning at a 30%+ clip for the entire second half of the year, a nearly legendary percentage for such an extended period of time. We’ve won races at tracks up and down the east coast, from claiming races at Penn National to feature allowances and stakes at Monmouth Park, Parx, and Gulfstream Park. Congratulations to trainers Kelly Breen, Mark Salvaggio and Ron Spatz and their entire teams, as well as to all the riders and the members of our Kenwood Racing family. The best is yet to come in 2021!!!

Horse by Horse News

  • Speaking of Fire's Finale who is doing great in Ocala enjoying a richly deserved bit of R&R. A little turnout in a nice paddock now and back in training end of next month.
  • Adhwaa good out of her maiden win at Laurel Park and should be ready to enter towards the end of December or early January. We think she’s going to be a nice horse for us this winter for large purses in NY and Md.
  • Tracy Ann's Legacy on target for the Abundantia Stakes on January 1st at Gulfstream Park. While stake races at Gulfstream Park are almost always incredibly competitive, she’s earned her way here after a terrific season for us. She’s excellent out of her victory opening day at Gulfstream Park and we are looking forward to another successful year with her in 2021. Tracy Ann has had a terrific career with 8 wins, 6 seconds and 3 thirds from 21 career starts and lifetime earnings over $225,000 to date. Claimed for just $22,000 at Monmouth Park in July, she’s earned several times that for us already and we think the best is yet to come with her.
  • Life On the Edge will ship into Belmont Park from Overbrook Farm training center ASAP, probably early next week, depending on when a van can safely navigate the icy roads in the area. It’s a bit earlier than we had planned but due to horrible weather the Overbrook track can’t stay open much so she’ll get more training in at Belmont Park. She is doing great and if all goes well she’ll be running in New York this winter for some very nice purses.
  • Seven Seven is expected to ship to Overbrook Farm shortly, once the weather-track there improves enough to let him get some training in there. He’s doing excellent in his final days of R&R at Sunset Meadow Farm.
  • Blu Candy at Sunset Meadow Farm briefly. She will return to training soon and hopefully we can look for a race for her debut in January.
  • Pango well and happy in Ocala at de Meric farm. He’s getting turnout in a nice paddock now, then daily swimming for about 30 days, and then will go back into training with the goal of having him fit and ready to return to trainer Mark Salvaggio at Penn National by the end of the winter and ready to run when the first turf races appear in the northeast next spring. He had a terrific year for us, ending with two straight impressive wins, and we are looking forward to another big year with him in 2021.
  • Lisa Limon and weanling by Liam’s Map both very well in Kentucky. Lisa will be bred to the very popular young sire Bolt d’Oro in 2021. An exceptionally fast and beautifully bred horse, Bolt d’Oro was bred to 214 mares in 2019 and his first foals to hit the sales ring averaged over $90,000 as weanlings this year. Lisa is due have her second foal in early March by the top sire and racehorse Palace Malice.

General News

  • Three wins from three starts this month gives Kenwood Racing 19 wins for 2020 out of 92 starts, impressive stats indeed but note we began the year 2 for 38 when almost all tracks were shut down during COVID and it was almost impossible to find the right spots for horses. Thus Kenwood Racing has been winning at a 30%+ clip for the entire second half of the year, a nearly legendary percentage for such an extended period of time. We’ve won races at tracks up and down the east coast, from claiming races at Penn National to feature allowances and stakes at Monmouth, Parx, and Gulfstream Park. Congratulations to trainers Kelly Breen, Mark Salvaggio and Ron Spatz and their entire teams, as well as to all the riders and the members of Kenwood Racing family. The best is yet to come in 2021!!!
  • You are invited to Kenwood Racing's on-line meeting, Thursday December 17, 2020 at 7:30pm.  This meeting will introduce the management changes at Kenwood Racing, including a new member of our team and give you an opportunity to hear from trainer Kelly Breen. We will also provide an update on all horses and groups and Kenwood's plans for 2021.  In addition, there will be some surprise announcements and a raffle of a special trophy from Life on the Edge's win on August 14 at Monmouth Park for Group 50 Co-Owners.  It is an ideal opportunity to ask any questions you may have about your group, a particular horse, Kenwood Racing or the industry in general.

While a reservation is not required to join, letting us know that you expect to attend ahead of time would be appreciated.

Note: since this meeting will discuss information that is considered confidential, it is for invitees only and will not be recorded for future use.

  • Thought everyone might enjoy a story today on old friend New Found Treasure, who is enjoying a safe and happy retirement thanks in large part to the efforts of one of her Kenwood Co-Owners, Wendy Slocombe who shared the following with us.... “Attached is my update on lovely New Found Treasure who is adored by her new owner and admired by all. She is out every day with pasture mates. She really has been more of a star than I had hoped. Please print my letter in all or as much as you see fit to others. Because you offered her for private sale and subsequently retired her sound the sky is the limit”. It’s owners like John and Wendy that people rarely hear about who are the heart and soul of our game, they are in it for the love of the horse and always put the horse first.

  • Fire's Finale great out of his win in the Pa. Nursery stakes at Parx and arrived safely in Ocala yesterday for a brief and richly deserved bit of R&R. A little turnout in a nice paddock and back in training end of next month.
  • Adhwaa excellent out of her maiden win last week at Laurel Park, so good in fact that we are considering entering her next week for a race back on two weeks rest at Aqueduct. Stay tuned.
  • Tracy Ann's Legacy on target for the Abundantia Stakes on January 1st at Gulfstream Park. While stake races at Gulfstream are almost always incredibly competitive, she’s earned her way here after a terrific season for us and the timing should be perfect. She’s excellent out of her victory and we are looking forward to another successful year with her in 2021. • Seven Seven is expected to join Life On the Edge in training at Overbrook farm shortly, doing excellent in his final days of R&R at Sunset Meadow Farm.
  • Blu Candy will get just a couple of weeks at Sunset Meadow farm and then return to training and look for a race. She arrived safely today.
Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for December 7, 2020

December 9, 2020 at 6:47 am • By Robb Levinsky

Horse by Horse News

A day, a week, a month, a year of racing that will long remembered. Three wins from three starts in December including Fire’s Finale winning the Pa. Nursery stakes. Here’s all the news, plus links to videos, articles, and more….

  • We begin with Fire's Finale , who got the worst possible post in an overflow field for the Pa. Nursery Stakes at Parx Monday but came into the race training exceptionally well. He was sent off at 11 to 1 odds in a race where every one of the better horses nominated was entered, literally could not have been a tougher spot for the level. Last out of the gate and last for the first half of the race, he commenced an inside rally at the 3/8 pole under Mychel Sanchez, a terrific and personable young rider, who gave him a picture perfect trip. Mychel swung him into the middle of the track turning for home, took dead aim on the four runners still in front of him and mowed them down in the stretch to win by a length, going away (“I had a ton of horse from the start, he was just starting to run at the end” Mychel).  A large crowd of Kenwood Racing owners celebrated a tremendous victory together with this very special runner. You can see a great video one of the owners, Mike Russell, put together here. You can also read a great article about the race here. With his win, for the second time in less than a week, Kenwood Racing was the leading money winning owner in North America for the day (see below), just as we were last week when Tracy Ann’s Legacy won the feature race on opening day of Gulfstream Park’s elite winter meet.

Bred by Kenwood Racing from our great stakes winning mare Exchanging Fire and sold to the Kenwood Racing co-ownership group priced at just $40,000, with this win Fire’s Finale went over the $100,000 mark in career earnings after a terrific two year old season in which he made seven career starts with 2 wins, 2 seconds, a third and 2 fourths. He came out of the race perfect this morning and tomorrow he will head down to Ocala for a little R&R to have him fresh and fit for a big three year old campaign next year. The Pa. Nursery stakes has a great history, horses who have won it in the past include the legendary Derby & Preakness winner Smarty Jones, and while we aren’t comparing Fire’s Finale to that level of runner, he’s clearly a horse with a very promising future ahead of him. This was an especially emotional victory with a very unique horse. Kenwood Racing raced his mother, Exchanging Fire, who we claimed at Gulfstream Park and developed into a three time stakes winner of nearly $250,000. She was the horse who put our New Jersey-based program on the map and was like a member of our family so we kept and bred her. Fire’s Finale was her final foal (thus his name) as she tragically died of colic one month after he was born. He was raised by a nurse mare named Warm Country who was very devoted to him and despite that horrible start in life was a strong, healthy foal who developed into an impressive youngster, showing obvious talent from almost day one of his training. To see him turn into this kind of super sound and talented runner is what makes this frequently challenging business so worthwhile. This race was like a gathering of old friends, as Parx based trainer Ron Dandy who saddled the horse for trainer Kelly Breen yesterday is a friend of 30+ years who used to be a neighbor at Kenwood Farm in Georgetown, Ma in the 1980s. Meanwhile jockey Mychel Sanchez’s agent was none other than former rider and long time friend Joe Hampshire, who rode Exchanging Fire when she ran at Parx about 14 years ago. Exchanging Fire was based at Parx for most of her career with us; now her final foal returns to break his maiden and then win the first of what we hope will be many stakes at the same track for a talented young rider whose agent rode his mother when he was a jockey. Can’t get better than that.

  • Just one day before Fire’s Finale won the Pa. Nursery Stakes, Adhwaa made some noise of her own on Sunday at Laurel Park. Battling head to head the entire length of the stretch with the 8 to 5 favorite (Adhwaa was the strong 9 to 5 second choice) while opening up on the rest of the field, she put her head down right at the wire (“like a football player reaching the ball over the goal line” – Paul Callahan) to win by a nose, with the rest of the field far back. It was an impressive maiden win for a talented filly, who was a private purchase by Kenwood Racing this summer at a value price. 5th in her Kenwood Racing debut in a race she needed coming off a layoff, she was a good 2nd last time out at Parx, setting her up perfectly for this race. Based with Kelly Breen’s string at Belmont Park, she came out of the race excellent and is well positioned to make some serious $ this winter running at Aqueduct – Parx – Laurel Park for generous purses.
  • The month began with Tracy Ann's Legacy’s impressive win in the feature race on opening day of the premier Gulfstream Park winter meet Dec. 2nd, wire to wire by 3+ lengths over a tough field of turf runners.  Tracy Ann’s Legacy is now being pointed to the Abundantia Stakes on January 1st at Gulfstream Park. While stake races at Gulfstream Park are almost always incredibly competitive, she’s earned her way here after a terrific season for us and the timing should be perfect. She’s excellent out of her victory and we are looking forward to another successful year with her in 2021. Tracy Ann’s Legacy has had a terrific career with 8 wins, 6 seconds and 3 thirds from 21 career starts and lifetime earnings over $225,000 to date. Claimed for just $22,000 at Monmouth Park in July, she’s earned several times that for us already and we think the best is yet to come with her.
  • The three December wins gives Kenwood Racing 19 wins for 2020 out of 92 starts, impressive stats indeed but note we began the year 2 for 38 when almost all tracks were shut down during Covid and it was almost impossible to find the right spots for horses. Thus Kenwood Racing has been winning at a 30%+ clip for the entire second half of the year, a nearly legendary percentage for such an extended period of time. Congratulations to trainers Kelly Breen, Mark Salvaggio and Ron Spatz and their entire teams, as well as to all the riders and the members of Kenwood Racing family. The best is yet to come in 2021!!!
  • In other news Life On the Edge training well at Overbrook Farm. The brief bit of R&R did her a world of good after a long campaign this year and she looks ready to get back to action now. In early January she should be ready to ship into Kelly Breen at Belmont Park and if all goes well she’ll be running in New York this winter.
  • Seven Seven is expected to join Life On the Edge in training at Overbrook farm shortly, doing excellent in his final days of R&R at Sunset Meadow Farm.
  • Blu Candy will breeze this week as we wait for a spot for her to make her debut.
  • Pangowell and happy in Ocala at de Meric farm.
We’re pleased to announce Lisa Limon will be bred to the very popular young sire Bolt d’Oro in 2021. Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for December 4, 2020

December 4, 2020 at 12:59 pm • By Robb Levinsky

Horse by Horse News

  • Tracy Ann's Legacy good out of an impressive wire to wire win in the feature race on opening day of the premier Gulfstream Park winter meet yesterday. This super-successful claim offers a couple of ‘teachable moments’. First, as explained many times, much of racing is the trip. Yesterday, she broke like a shot and Paco played ‘catch me if you can’ for the entire race. Last time, she broke slowly, never made the lead, and was a tiring and well beaten 4th (despite trying hard every step of the way). People have trouble understanding how a horse can look so good in one race and so bad in another because they think of them as machines that should have a similar speed number every race. When a horse like this makes the lead by themselves, they are very very tough to run down, if they get into a speed battle early they frequently tire badly and stop to a walk.

Second, this filly has an absolutely awful way of moving; she looks like an old-fashioned eggbeater walking, galloping, and running, her legs going sideways. Most horses who move like this don’t make it to the races or run a couple of times and have to be retired because they can’t physically stand up to the rigors of training. There’s a colt on the early Derby trail for next year featured in The Blood-Horse last week with a similar way of going. You’d never buy horses like these at a sale and rightfully so, because 95%+ aren’t going to stand up to training.100% of all the two year olds we’ve purchased at sales have started and over 90% have won because we avoid horses who move like this as unproven youngsters, but every so often there’s one that disproves the rule because they are raceHORSES not raceCARS. Once they make it to the races and demonstrate soundness and ability, you don’t worry so much about pedigree, conformation, etc. because the results speak for themselves. Tracy Ann has already had a terrific career, sound and talented with her 8th career win yesterday, along with 6 seconds and 3 thirds from 21 career starts and career earnings over $225,000 to date. Once they hit the track, some beautifully conformed horses with terrific pedigrees have zero talent or break down and some horses who move like an eggbeater are fast and sound. You play the odds but with living, breathing animals you just never know. Occasionally you see a tennis player with an unorthodox swing, a basketball player with a horrible shooting motion, a baseball pitcher with a really odd way of moving his arm who make it in the big leagues. You wouldn’t teach anyone to move like they do, but for them it works.

  • Adhwaa was entered this morning and finally a race went for her. She runs Sunday in a 9 horse field at Laurel Park with a top rider. She’s doing excellent, sitting on a big effort here with a repeat of her last (a fast closing 2nd at Parx last month). Owners are permitted on site at Laurel Park, let us know if you plan to attend.
  • Life On the Edge shipped to Rory Huston at Overbrook Farm to resume training, arrived safely and went right out to the track and trained a mile this. The brief bit of R&R did her a world of good after a long campaign this year and she looks ready to get back to action now. After about 30 days she should be ready to ship into Kelly Breen at Belmont Park and if all goes well she’ll be running in New York this winter.
  • Fire's Finale got the worst possible post #1 in an overflow 15 horse field for the Pa. Nursery Stakes at Parx next Monday (the exact opposite draw to Tracy Ann above who drew the perfect post). He gets the leading rider at Parx, Mychel Sanchez, has been training exceptionally well for this and comes into it fresh and fit with an experience edge over most of these. In a field this large especially breaking from the rail it’s all about the trip he gets (as it is with most races but even more so here). It should be an exciting day and hopefully a good ending to a great two year old year for him. Please email George@kenwoodracing.com if you plan to attend. Remember Covid restrictions can change day to day in terms of access so please check with us before you go to Parx, at the moment owners ARE admitted. After the race, Fire’s Finale will head down to Ocala for a little R&R to have him fresh and fit for a big three year old campaign next year.

Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for December 3, 2020

December 3, 2020 at 4:14 pm • By Robb Levinsky

Horse by Horse News

  • Tracy Ann's Legacy ran them off their feet under Paco Lopez in the opening day feature race at Gulfstream Park today, making the lead and never looking back to win going away by better than 3 lengths. She came into the race doing really well and when she drew the favorable outside post we knew with a good break she’d be very tough to beat despite facing a highly competitive field. As explained so many times, much of racing is the trip and we got it here as she broke like a shot and Paco played ‘catch me if you can’ for the entire race. Tracy picked up a very generous $28,900 winning purse as a Florida bred, her second win in four starts since being claimed for just $22,000 in July at Monmouth Park (she was 2nd in an allowance and 4th in a stake in her other two starts for us). You couldn’t possibly dream up a better start to Gulfstream’s premier meet than winning the opening day feature race, or a better start to the final month of what has been an outstanding year for Kenwood runners with 17 wins from 90 starts and counting. A huge congratulations to trainer Kelly Breen and his hard-working crew and all the happy owners in our incredibly successful active racing group #58!
  • Fire's Finale got the worst possible post #1 in an overflow 15 horse field for the Pa. Nursery Stakes at Parx next Monday (the exact opposite draw to Tracy Ann above who drew the perfect post). • Adhwaa good out of a nice maintenance work and we’re looking for a race for her anywhere in the northeast. She’s doing excellent, sitting on a win. We’ve entered multiple times now at multiple tracks, usually not so hard to get a race to go for a maiden. We hope to get her in the entries shortly somewhere.

  • Seven Seven is expected to go back into training at Overbrook farm in January, doing excellent.
  • Pango well and happy in Ocala at de Meric farm. He’ll get turnout in a nice paddock for about 30 days, then daily swimming for about 30 days, and then go back into training with the goal of having him fit and ready to return to trainer Mark Salvaggio at Penn National by the end of the winter and ready to run when the first turf races appear in the northeast next spring. He had a terrific year for us, ending with two straight impressive wins, and we are looking forward to another big year with him in 2021.
  • Lisa Limon and weanling by Liam’s Map both very well in Kentucky. We’re pleased to announce Lisa will be bred to the very popular young sire Bolt d’Oro in 2021. An exceptionally fast and beautifully bred horse, Bolt d’Oro was bred to 214 mares in 2019 and his first foals to hit the sales ring averaged over $90,000 as weanlings this year. Lisa is due to foal in early March.

Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for September 29, 2020

Horse by Horse News

  • Tracy Ann's Legacy gets in the entries opening day at Gulfstream Park, December 2nd. She’s doing really well and while these kind of races are always super tough, we are anticipating a big effort from her here under top rider Paco Lopez.
  • Adhwaa had a nice maintenance work yesterday at Belmont Park and we’re looking for a race for her anywhere in the northeast. She’s doing excellent, sitting on a win. We’ve entered multiple times now at multiple tracks, usually not so hard to get a race to go for a maiden. We hope to get her in the entries shortly somewhere.

  • Fire's Finale has had a series of outstanding works at Belmont Park. He’s as ready as a horse can be for the Pa. Nursery stakes on Dec. 7th, which he will be entered for tomorrow at Parx. You can see past performances for the nominees attached (these are all horses nominated for the race, not all of them will actually run). He’s had a great two year old campaign with an amazing 6 starts to date, all good efforts including a win in his most recent race, a real tribute to his soundness and determination. If he runs as well as he’s been training, he’ll have a serious shot here. After the race, he’ll head down to Ocala for a little R&R to have him fresh and fit for a big three year old campaign next year.

  • Life On the Edge will be shipped to Rory Huston at Overbrook Farm to resume training this week. After about 30 days she should be ready to ship into Kelly Breen at Belmont Park and if all goes well she’ll be running at Aqueduct this winter.
  • Pango well and happy in Ocala at de Meric farm. The attached photo speaks for itself. If a horse can be grinning from ear to ear he’s doing that. He’s saying ‘this is wonderful, thanks for the time off’! Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for November 25, 2020

November 27, 2020 at 8:56 pm • By Robb Levinsky

General News

  • It’s been a great year for us, winning races all over the east coast. We have two horses who are ready to run right now that we simply have not been able to get races to go for (Adhwaa, Tracy Ann’s Legacy).  Meanwhile Fire’s Finale is sharp and ready for his stakes debut on Dec. 7th at Parx. We hope to have all of them in the entries shortly; they are sitting on big efforts as we wind down a very successful 2020 racing season.
  •  If you haven’t seen it already take a look at our latest Blog post about a subject getting a lot of attention on social media over the past couple of months, The 6 Million Dollar Champion That Paid Back Nothing

Horse by Horse News

  • Tracy Ann's Legacy fine out of her excellent maintenance work at Palm Meadows and was entered for her race today at Gulfstream Park West which did not go. It was brought back for opening day at Gulfstream Park, enter Friday for next Wed. If that race doesn’t go there’s a possibility of trying a Claiming Crown stake the following week at Gulfstream Park.

  • Fire's Finale had another absolutely outstanding work today at Belmont Park. Just as last week it was the fastest work of the day but most important, he did it easily and came out of it perfect. He’s as ready as a horse can be for the Pa. Nursery stakes on Dec. 7th. You can see past performances for the nominees (these are all horses nominated for the race, only a small number of them will actually run). He’s already had a great two year old campaign with an amazing 6 starts to date, all good efforts including a game maiden win in his most recent race. There’s been an outbreak of Covid among the rider colony at Parx this week, we are keeping our fingers firmly crossed everyone makes a good recovery and racing continues. If he runs as well as he’s been training, he’ll have a serious shot in his stakes debut. After the race, he’ll head down to Ocala for a little R&R to have him fresh and fit for a big three year old campaign next year.

On to Kenwood Racing news…

It’s been a great year for us, winning races all over the east coast. We have several horses who are ready to run right now that we are looking for races to enter in (below). We hope to have a couple more wins to add to our totals before the end of the year with our current runners and look forward to another very successful and fun year in 2021. • Adhwaa is ready to run and we’re looking for a race for her anywhere in the northeast. She’s doing excellent, sitting on a win.
  • Fire's Finale excellent out of an exceptionally good work at Belmont Park. Younger horses, particularly horses bred to mature and go longer distances like Fire’s Finale and Seven Seven, can show dramatic improvements at this stage. Sometimes a little R&R at the farm or a little time between races can do wonders. We can’t guarantee what he’ll do in the stake next month at Parz or what the future will bring for him, but he literally could not be coming into the race any better.
  • Pango arrived safely in Ocala and will spend the winter with famed horseman and longtime friend Nick DeMeric at his beautiful farm. He’ll start with a little richly deserved R&R in a nice paddock for about 30 days, then get some daily swimming for about 30 days, and then go back into training with the goal of having him fit and ready to return to trainer Mark Salvaggio at Penn by the end of the winter and ready to run when the first turf races appear in the northeast next spring. Kenwood Racing Stable Notes for November 19, 2020

November 22, 2020 at 8:42 am • By Robb Levinsky

General News

We’ll begin with a little ‘teachable moment’ about the claiming process using our old friend Highwaytwentyseven, who was claimed from us last month after a very successful summer with Kenwood Tacing and yesterday finished a dull 7th in his first start for his new owners (below). He was the strong 2nd choice in the race and like so many horses do after leaving our care, regressed under new ownership. History shows very very few horses do as well for the new connections as they did for us. We know when the time has come to move on, plain and simple. Of course there are exceptions, but if you take a look at all horses claimed from us over the years here and then look up their post Kenwood Racing results by typing their names in the search box on the upper right here, the numbers will speak (loudly and clearly) for themselves…

Highwaytwentyseven finished 7th beaten by 10 1/4 lengths, on November 18, 2020, at PARX RACING in Race 2.
Off odds: 2.70

It’s been a great year for us and as 2020 winds down to a few final races we look forward to our new horses-groups beginning in January or February. In the meantime, hopefully we’ll have a couple more wins to add to our totals before the end of the year with our current runners. Thanks to everyone for your support, we look forward to another very successful and fun year with you in 2021!

Horse by Horse News

  • Fire's Finale had a fast and more important, exceptionally good work at Belmont Park. Not only was it the best work of the day at the distance time wise, but he did it well within himself. When you consider he’s not shown a lot of early speed in his races, that makes the quick time all the more impressive. Trainer Kelly Breen chose to pass up an allowance race a couple of weeks ago to give him a little time between his race last month and his scheduled start in the Pa. Nursery Stakes Dec. 7th and it appears to have really benefited him. Younger horses, particularly horses bred to mature and go longer distances like Fire’s Finale and Seven Seven, can show dramatic improvements at this stage. Sometimes a little R&R at the farm or a little time between races can do wonders. We can’t guarantee what he’ll do in the stake next month or what the future will bring for him, but he literally could not be coming into the race any better.

  • Adhwaa was entered for next week at Parx yesterday and the race came back but at the wrong distance so we didn’t enter. She’s ready to run and we’re looking for a race for her anywhere in the area.
  • A real shame we had to scratch Pango yesterday at Gulfstream Park. He’s doing very well and will ship to Ocala tomorrow for a little richly deserved R&R this winter.
  • Blu Candy good out of her work Sunday at Belmont Park and just about ready for her debut. Trainer Kelly Breen plans to work her from the gate shortly and assuming she gets her gate card, we can start looking for a race for her.
  • Tracy Ann's Legacy excellent and will be entered next week at Gulfstream Park.

Horse by Horse News

  • Adhwaa was entered for a race at Aqueduct and it did not go. There’s a race to enter in this Wednesday for next week at Parx (where she ran so well last time). Hopefully that one will go for her, she’s doing really well.
  • Pango is doing excellent since arriving in Florida so we went ahead and entered him and the race went at Gulfstream Park West for Wednesday. Like all grass races, a full field and competitive group, but he fits well in here and if he runs back to his last 3 excellent races at Penn (2 wins and a flying 2nd), he has a real shot. If it comes off the grass he will NOT run.
  • Blu Candy worked Sunday at Belmont Park and did fine but a slow work.  Getting close to her debut now.

  • Fire's Finale right on track for the Pennsylvania Nursery Stakes for Pa. bred 2 year olds at Parx on December 7th. After that we plan to send him down to Ocala for some richly deserved R&R. Timing should be perfect to have him ready for a big three year old season next year after a brief layoff. He is scheduled to work tomorrow at Belmont.
  • Three nice photos of Seven Seven taken this weekend, enjoying his R&R at Sunset Meadow farm. Note he’s turned out in a small paddock and really flourishing. Horses need a little down time to revitalize, just like people do. He and Life On the Edge (below) will be back in training soon, all the better for the R&R.
  • Life On the Edge well at Sunset Meadow farm. You can see a video of her outside in a small paddock. A little turnout while the weather is still good and back in training before the end of the year.
