• New Found Treasure, Giuliana Vee and No Good Deed all worked today at Penn National. All went well and all are ready to run. Like everyone else, we are just waiting for racing to resume in the northeast. The hoped for date for racing to return to Penn is towards the end of May, obviously subject to change.
• Trilby gets in for next Thursday at Gulfstream Park, a 14 horse field makes it very, very tough but she had a really solid maintenance work (below), is doing excellent and is ready to run off her good debut for us last time. Trainer Ron Spatz adds blinkers for this, an experiment to see if she’ll show a little more early speed. Sometimes it works great, other times it’s a total washout. Worth a try, we’ll see how she handles it and judge from there. Take a look at the attached photo trainer Ron Spatz took of her yesterday morning after training, “getting spoiled” as he put it. Who wouldn’t like to get a nice bath while being hand fed!
• Lookinlikeaqueen runs Sunday at Gulfstream Park. A large tough group, she got the unfavorable #10 post in an 11 horse field, but she’s doing well since getting sick two weeks ago. As a point of education, she’s 6 to 1 in the morning line, not a wild longshot but not one of the favorites, this off an impressive win in her last start with a great overall record. The horse doesn’t care what the odds are, the point is that a lot of the results depend on the level of the competition. If you run against weak horses, you usually look good, if you run in a tough field, the same effort can get you an off-the-board finish. That’s why ‘taking a shot’ with a nice $20,000 claiming horse in an allowance race because you don’t want the horse claimed is almost always a bad idea. That said, in this case the options to run are limited and this certainly isn’t out of her reach with her best effort. Maybe lost a little fitness since missing a race 2 weeks ago with a cough; we’ll see, but coming off a nice win and no other place to run her, whatever happens here she gets one under her belt and is sharp and ready for the next one.
• Rapstorerocks doing well and will be entered tomorrow for next week at Gulfstream Park
• Pango fine out of his race and galloping towards his next start.

• First, enjoy this photo of our beautiful Laoban colt, on the track and back in training at Overbrook Farm in New Jersey. He had a little R&R post sale and now will train there and then go into Belmont Park to train until Monmouth opens.  
• Lookinlikeaqueen was entered today at Gulfstream Park and the race went for Sunday. A large tough group, she got the unfavorable #10 post in an 11 horse field, but she’s doing well since getting sick two weeks ago. Maybe lost a little fitness since then, we’ll see, but coming off a nice win and no other place to run her so whatever happens here, she gets one under her belt and is sharp and ready for the next one. That all said, she comes off a nice win and is a very honest filly so with a decent trip can run well here too. 
• Trilby had a really solid maintenance work today at Gulfstream Park, she’s doing excellent and is ready to run off her good debut. She will be entered tomorrow for next week at Gulfstream. • Rapstorerocks doing well and will be entered Friday at Gulfstream Park
• Pango  was plain outrun today at Gulfstream Park, finishing 7^th. He was up close to a fast pace early, checked and dropped back. It was a super tough field for the level (as most races are now anywhere they are still running) and not his preferred distance. The race was run in a sizzling 1:10; he needs more distance and a slower pace. He’s fine out of his race and galloping towards his next start.
• Life on the Edge good out of a super breeze at Palm Meadows, will work again this weekend as she approaches her 2020 debut.
• Our super 2yo out of Exchanging Fire will ship to trainer Ron Spatz at Gulfstream Park this weekend to train towards his debut. When Monmouth Park opens we still plan to bring him up north to race this summer.
• New Found Treasure, Giuliana Vee and No Good Deed all well at Penn National, waiting for races for them somewhere. 
• Night of Idiots absolutely terrific and we will keep her in training at Golden Gate Fields with trainer Jonathan Wong for now.

• Lisa Limon was bred to top young sire Palace Malice and will be checked shortly to see if she’s back in foal. She and her foal by Liam’s Map are both doing great, see photos of them in a beautiful paddock at Hidden Brook Farm.
• Last but certainly not least, many people will recall a very nice colt named You Betcha we purchased back in 2018. He made one start in NY, was injured training a few weeks later and had to be retired. We donated him to Re-Run to rehab and find him a good home. They did their usual great job and he’s having a wonderful life now as a jumper (see these amazing photos Kelly Breen just sent along).  This horse always had a wonderful, fun personality; we loved him and while it didn’t work out for him (or us) as a racehorse, that’s a short part of any horse’s life and it’s heartwarming to see him prospering in his new home-career. Kenwood Racing is committed to finding good, safe, happy homes for our horses when their racing days are over. The photos really speak for themselves.

• Life on the Edge had an absolutely super breeze this morning at Palm Meadows. Went in company with another horse and drew away smartly at the wire under wraps. Any horse will look good to many people pulling away from another runner, but what matters is how easily and willingly she did it. When she came back from the farm she was a bit dull in her gallops (very much like some human athletes might be going back into training after some down time). As she’s progressed in her works, she’s shown a lot more interest and now is getting really sharp as she approaches her 2020 debut, exactly the progress you’d hope to see. Could run the first week in May, we have a race tentatively picked out for her in the new condition book that just came out. Take a look at the video Kelly Breen took of her work this morning.
• Rapstorerocks fine out of his race, one more try at Gulfstream Park back in about 3 weeks and then ship him north to Penn National.
• Pango runs on Sunday at Gulfstream Park. As usual a large competitive group but he’s trained well for his Kenwood debut for our active racing group and hopefully he’ll follow up on Trilby’s good debut with one of his own.  
• Lookinlikeaqueen training nicely and is on track to be entered end of next week for a race next week if all keeps going well.

• Rapstorerocks showed speed from the start, made the lead from the inside but got caught in a vicious battle with one other horse and both of them stopped badly in the stretch after setting a very fast pace (the other runner never got by Rapstorerocks who tried hard). We were trying a different tactic today in what looked like a paceless race, hoping he could make an easy lead and not look back. Jockey Dylan Davis followed instructions exactly and the horse made an honest effort, unfortunately one other rider had the same idea and ruined it for both of us. With 12 horse fields you need the right trip and some luck to win, it was a clever tactic but just didn’t work out.
• Pango was entered today for Sunday at Gulfstream Park and the race went, as usual a large competitive group but he’s trained well for his Kenwood debut for our active racing group and hopefully he’ll follow up on Trilby’s good debut with one of his own.

• Next, we have the news the Monmouth Park’s opening has been delayed from Memorial Day weekend to July 4^th. Obviously it's a disappointment, but also probably a wise decision. All our horses are just fine and fortunately this is not going to have much impact on their racing. The horses in Florida will continue to train and hopefully race there.

• Our beautiful Laoban colt is with trainer Rory Huston at Overbrook Farm in New Jersey and will train there and then go into Belmont Park to prepare until Monmouth Park opens. He’s had his brief (3 week) rest in a nice turnout paddock and Rory will now start him back in training on the track at Overbrook next week. Down to final two shares in this group. • Our super 2yo out of Exchanging Fire excellent in Ocala and now will ship to trainer Ron Spatz at Gulfstream Park shortly to train towards his debut there. When Monmouth Park opens we still plan to bring him up north to race this summer.

• Lookinlikeaqueen  much better, not coughing at all, went to track today and jogged nicely. The antibiotics appear to have done the trick and assuming she trains well from here, is on track to be entered in a race coming up in about 10 days at Gulfstream Park.

• Trilby was a good third in her Kenwood debut for our active racing group #58. Parked three wide throughout in a 12 horse field, she was forced 6 wide when making a bold move on the far turn and was still near the back of the pack in mid-stretch but sustained a strong run to just get up for 3^rd in the final stride. With not many tracks running anywhere, every race is overfilled and exceptionally competitive and this one was no exception. That said, she tried hard and with a little better trip would have been right there.  Looks like a solid claim and a nice filly for our new group.

Several nice works to report today…

• “I breezed Pango this morning, went quite well, 49 & a couple, out in 102 and change. Came back scoped clean and so far cooled out well”, Ron Spatz. There’s a race for him next week at Gulfstream Park that we are pointing him for.
• Life on the Edge had a nice breeze today at Palm Meadows. “The horse I breezed her with last time got hurt and needed a few days off so I breezed her by herself this morning. She went really well, nice and easy and did everything right”, Kelly Breen. You can see a video of her work. She really looks great! 
• New Found Treasure, Giuliana Vee and No Good Deed all well at Penn National, waiting for races for them somewhere. No Good Deed had a nice work today (see below). All are training fine and ready to run, you can see some nice photos of all of them from Mark Salvaggio (attached) as they headed out for their works. Treasure and Giuliana had fine maintenance works yesterday and came out of them well. 
• A shame Lookinlikeaqueen had be scratched for today’s race at Gulfstream Park. She was better this morning, no fever and it does not seem serious. There’s another race for her in a couple of weeks and hopefully she’ll be ready for that one.
• Night of Idiots was entered for this weekend at Golden Gate Fields, but racing has now been cancelled there until further notice.
• Our super 2yo out of Exchanging Fire excellent in Ocala and ready to ship to Monmouth Park when it opens for training (hopefully towards the end of April).

Two entries today for Saturday at Gulfstream Park and both horses got in.

• Trilby and Lookinlikeaqueen both are in overflow fields at Gulfstream Park on Saturday for our new active racing group #58. With not many tracks running anywhere every race is overfilled and every race will be exceptionally competitive. That said, both get good riders and both are doing very well for their Kenwood debuts. You can see a nice photo of Trilby attached courtesy of trainer Ron Spatz. Should have photos of Lookinlikeaqueen and Pango soon.

We were so fortunate to buy a stellar physical individual by a promising young sire, out of a young dam who won 7 races and over $220,000 on the track, at a sale where a horse of this quality was available at a genuine value. • Good work today for Trilby at Gulfstream Park (below). “Good morning Robb, just to let you know Trilby had a lovely workout this morning. She started out very relaxed and had a nice gallop out, 48 & change and 102, pretty easily and I’m very happy with that”, Ron Spatz
• “Open galloped Pango this morning, just a 2 minute lick, he’s doing really well”, Ron Spatz.
• “The filly, Lookinlikeaqueen, I don’t think I’ll breeze her coming up to this race. I prefer just gallops up to the race. She gallops plenty strong and she’s plenty fit”, Ron Spatz

• Rapstorerocks fine out of his race yesterday where he was 5^th of 12 horses at Gulfstream Park with absolutely no excuse. He drew the highly unfavorable #12 post but Paco Lopez rode a perfect race, getting him into a stalking position close to the leaders by the first turn without having to use him too hard. He sat a dream trip, made a bold move turning for home and looked like a winner, but flattened out in the stretch.
