Hi All,
A couple of scratches and an entry tomorrow highlight the weekend, and end of the 2026 Monmouth Park meet. Also we will be mailing out multiple Winner’s Circle pictures to all Partners and Group members by the end of next week so keep an eye out for them in your mail.
Cadet Corps had a small issue with his right front leg and will be scratched from his race today at Delaware Park. He will need 2-3 weeks of just walking and then should be back to training with the Claiming Crown Jewel in November still in play. Very disappointing as he was the 7-5 favorite in a race with a 100K purse that was a perfect fit for him. Luckily just a minor setback and we will be looking forward to him getting back to regular training.
Foggy Note was entered inadvertently for a race at Monmouth Park today and will be scratched as she is eligible for a nice $100,000 Starter Allowance, sprinting 6.5f on the dirt, for fillies and mares who have started for $12,500 or less. The spacing is four weeks out of her win last out, and she's training well too! Certainly, going to be a tough spot, with a $100,000 purse, but Foggy Note has been running Allowance-quality figures for us since adding the blinkers. Entries will be drawn tomorrow Sunday, September 13th.
Red Head Italian is entered in Race 6 tomorrow Sunday at Monmouth Park (see pp’s attached above and details below) going 6 furlongs on the main track. Louis Rivera Jr. will be in the irons leaving from post 6 in a full field of ten runners. With a good chance of heavy rain overnight the track may be sloppy and her early speed from the gate will be a plus if she can get the early lead and not get a mud bath. She is currently the 3rd choice on the opening line at 7-2, and Scott’s pre-race comments are below. Good luck to all Group 91 Members, Trainer Kelly Breen and our partner RJR Racing.
Some exciting news to share, as we entered RED HEAD ITALIAN for closing day of the 2026 Monmouth Park meet, this Sunday, September 13th! With the only NJ Bred Allowance sprint in the Meadowlands Condition Book not until October 9th, we knew we were going to need to get her a race before then! She's been training great out of her dull effort last out in the off-the-turf race, and with Kelly Breen chasing a possible Trainer's Title this meet at Monmouth, we knew we had to jump on the opportunity for one more race before the end of the meet. An open, Clm10000 dirt sprint going 6-furlongs, Luis Rivera Jr. is back aboard breaking from Post Position #6 against a full field of 10 runners. Cross out her last race, and RHI's previous three races at Monmouth Park this Summer put her right in the mix with his full field. There is other early speed to contend with, starting with #2-Beautiful Bolt, #4-Winkiwinki who is cutting back in distance, as well as the two outside horses, #9-Duela Dent and #10-Peggysue I Love You all looking to be need-the-lead type horses. We need a clean break, and Luis knows she needs the lead early to be effective, so we'll ask Luis to do what he can to get her out in front early and hopefully lead them gate to wire!

She’s a Gamer had a nice maintenance breeze this morning at Monmouth Park in preparation for her entry tomorrow for the Liberty Bell Stakes at Parx on Pennsylvania Derby Day (see nominations and pp’s attached above). The race has a total of 26 Nominations looking to compete for the $150,000 purse, sprinting 6.5f on the main track. There is no shortage of Stakes Winners, and even Graded Stakes Winners, led by last year's winner, Mystic Lake. We'll review as a team over the weekend, before making a final determination on entry, but at first glance it looks like a good spot for her. Fingers crossed, but she's training great out of her win at Saratoga and hopefully just getting better late in her 4YO season!
