Hi All,

A race tonight and much more to come as Monmouth Park opens for its 80th season on Saturday afternoon.

We will be hosting our “Owner for a Day Program” on Saturday June 14th Haskell Preview Day (see attached notice above).  It is a great opportunity for anyone who has not been a Kenwood Horse Group Member to see Morning Training and visit our horses in Kelly Breen’s Barn on the Monmouth Park Backside.  Afterwards you will be able to watch the races from a beautiful Winner’s Circle Terrace Suite with both breakfast and lunch included. As a bonus the first 5000 in attendance that day will receive a Monmouth Park Hoodie.  A great Father’s Day Gift. Please let us know if you are interested in receiving more information as space is limited.

Cali Heat is entered tonight in Race 3 at Penn National with Tyler Conner in the irons going 6 furlongs on the main track (see pp’s attached above and details below).  Trainer Mark Salvaggio feels that he is ready to go for his 2nd win in a row after a nice breeze on April 29th (details below).  Scott’s pre-race comments are:

All systems are a go tonight for CALI HEAT, as he steps up in class off his win last out and looking to make it two in a row! Tyler Conner is back aboard for the 6-furlong sprint, carded as Race 3 with a Post Time just before 6:45 PM tonight! Cali Heat drew the #3 Post Position and is 7-5 on the ML.  There is not a lot of early speed signed on with this short field of six runners, and the ML favorite #5-Saponara looks to the only other early speed on paper along with Cali Heat.  While Cali Heat has proven more successful stalking the early speed, Tyler Conner may have no choice but to be on the pace with Cali Heat today, as Saponara breaks to their outside and prefers a similar stalking setup to Cali Heat. With that said, speed can carry at Penn National after heavy rains, and they got a lot of rain out there through the weekend, so on the pace might be the place to be! The track was fast last week for Cali Heat’s last breeze, so we’ll see how it is playing in the first couple races; both of which are 6-furlong dirt sprints, too. The #1-Grey Streak could be interesting, as he exits a poor showing against Starter Allowance company, but he has 2-wins and 1-second in his last three races against Claiming company, so he can’t be overlooked in this spot; albeit it’s a step up for him too, from his win at the Clm7500 level. Mark texted this morning that Cali Heat is “sharp”, and fingers crossed he runs his race tonight!  He tried hard every time, which is one of the fun things about this horse but has also been improving since returning to training last Fall, and we’re hopeful he answers the bell in the step up in class tonight. Best of luck to all Group 93 members and our Kenwood Racing Partners!  Fingers crossed for a clean trip, and little racing luck tonight!

Cali Heat is entered today at PENN NATIONAL.
