Hi All,

Races tonight and Saturday are next up for the Kenwood Stable as we are hoping for some luck with overnights for entry options for the rest of the month.  A note to all Kenwood Partners and Group Members:  We are working on K-1’s and should be sending them out before the end of the month.

Red Head Italian is entered in Race 6 tonight at Penn National in a very light field of five after the scratch of the #2 going 6 furlongs on the dirt (see pp’s above and details below). It is the first night back for racing at Penn after the early winter hiatus since late December 2025.  Jomar Torres will be aboard in a bid for their 3rd straight win at the track after back-to-back romps last fall.  We expect her to most likely be the race favorite even though the opening line was 3-1.  Scott’s race day comments are below and good luck to all Group 91 Members and partner RJR Racing.

It’s race day for RED HEAD ITALIAN, at home at Penn National, as they get back to racing tonight after an 8-week break! Carded as Race 6 with a Post Time at 8:10 PM, RHI gets Jomar Torres back in the saddle in this 6-fulrong sprint over the main track. Red Head Italian has been training well out of her stall accident last month and has had a lot of energy on track this week, heading into race day! There was one scratch from the short field, with #2-Braccesca out, so we are down to a field of five, with RHI drawn outside in Post Position #6 and 3-1 on the ML. She has won her last two races over this track in late November and mid-December, and on paper, looks to be the speed of the race. The two favorites exit similar races to RHI at Parx last out, #4-Pontiffany and #1-Take Time To Dream, and we wouldn’t be shocked to see RHI as the Post Time favorite once the betting shakes out!

Red Head Italian is entered on February 19, 2026 at PENN NATIONAL.

Outlaw Country is entered in race 3 at Gulfstream Park on Saturday February 21st going 6.5 furlongs on the main track (see pp’s above and details below) .  We are hoping a change to the dirt surface where he has been training very well over will get him back on track and hopefully into the Winner’s Circle.  Edwin Gonzalez will be in the irons in a field of seven where they are 10-1 on the opening line.  Scott’s early analysis is below and good luck to all Group 90 ARC23 Members and Trainer – Partner Kelly Breen.

I have been mentioning we may give OUTLAW COUNTRY a try back on the dirt with how well he has been training on it, and after his past few performances on the turf/synthetic, and the right spot has come up for him next Saturday at Gulfstream Park to give a shot. A bottom level open claiming race, going 6.5-furlongs on the main track, Outlaw Country gets the talented, young Jockey Edwin Gonzalez in the irons, breaking from Post Position #5, in a short field of seven horses. These bottom level races are no “cakewalks”, and always have tough horses, including the 1st and 2nd place finishers from this same race, last out, with #1-Sound Of A Beast and #6-Gallant Knight; along with #7-Lou The Body, who placed second at this level going 1-Mile last out. Outlaw Country had so much success early on after making the surface switch to turf, that running back on the dirt became an afterthought; but he has the back class on dirt to have a say in this race! Boasting an 8:2-1-2 running line on dirt, mostly against the deep NYRA circuit, both wins came at the 6.5f-7f distance, sitting off the early speed and making his usual late run.  The early speed on Saturday appears to be right to his outside with #6-Gallant Knight, but #7-Lou The Body has early tactical speed, and the cutback in distance with the outside post position certainly means he will be forwardly placed and potentially pushing the early pace scenario. Outlaw Country will need a clean break from the middle post position, and we’ll look to save ground around the turn while stay close to the early pace. As Kelly said to me when deciding on which entry to take next weekend, “He has been training well on the dirt, and the synthetic sprints have been coming up very deep, so let’s take a shot with a short field on dirt.”  Needless to say, the synthetic sprint for next Sunday came up with a full field of 12, so we’ll take the shot with a short field on the surface switch.

Outlaw Country is entered to run on February 21, 2026, at GULFSTREAM PARK.

Lisa Connects started off last weekend with a sparkling effort to break her Maiden at Gulfstream Park besting 10 others while drawing off to win by more than 5 lengths (see chart attached above).  Rider Edwin Gonzalez hustled her out of the gate to quickly make the lead and they never looked back.  Congratulations to our homebred and all Group 98 Members.
Scott’s post – race comments are below.

CONGRATULATIONS on the win! LISA CONNECTS was impressive in the opener at Gulfstream Park on February 12th leading a full field from gate to wire, and winning by 5+ lengths in the end, geared down for the last 100’! With the scratch of the ML favorite and only early speed, we had a feeling LC could end up on the front end with a clean break and her natural gate speed; and that’s exactly what happened.  While no one else was “sent”, LC and Edwin saw pressure around the first turn and up the backstretch, but they were moving comfortably and in hand to the far turn.  She started to get away at the Quarter Pole, and widened her lead to 7+ lengths down the stretch, before Edwin took a quick look under his arm and opted to wrap her up and gallop home an easy winner! It was an exciting race to watch, and a quite the way to break her maiden during the Championship Meet at Gulfstream Park! There were no claim slips dropped for Lisa Connects in the slight drop-in class, and she has come back from the race in good order so far and was given a lifetime best 73 Equibase Speed Figure for the win, as she continues to improve each race.

Speed Figures gave his all at Tampa Bay Downs last Saturday in the 100K Turf Dash making the early lead leaving from the tough #11 post after being bumped at the start and setting very quick fractions to lead until the final yards before the wire.  He has come out of the race and trip back to Palm Meadows in great shape and we will be looking for a race for him in the coming weeks.  Scott’s post-race comments are below.

While it wasn’t the finish we wanted yesterday in the Turf Dash Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs, SPEED FIGURES ran a heck of a race on the frontend to just get beat in the final strides and settling for 4th Place.  The outside Post Position did us no favors in this spot, as SPEED FIGURES burst out of the gate and was forced to go 21.1 in the opening Quarter Mile, to clear the field and get over the rail position; that’s fast! He went on to clock the Half Mile in 43.2, which was still a blistering pace! He looked to be in control at the top of the stretch and into the straightaway, but the two favorites were closing on him, and the fast early pace softened him enough to get passed in the final 50 yards! It’s safe to say the Post Position did him no favors in this spot, and we’re proud of how well he ran against a salty Stakes field. It’s onwards and upwards for our 5YO Gelding, as he lost to some very good horses, with the chips stacked against him from a Post Position standpoint!

Cadet Corps has rebounded well from the fever that he spiked the day before the Grade 3 Mine Shaft Stakes at the Fairgrounds where he was scratched last Saturday morning.  It was a very disappointing turn of events as he had a real nice chance to be a big factor if he ran in the race.   He has returned to Palm Meadows and will continue to train up to a possible entry in the first running of the 100K Golden Horseshoe Handicap going 1 3/8 miles on the main track at Colonial Downs in Virginia on Thursday March 12th.  Entries will be taken on March 5th.

All is well with our new horses in the ARC26 stable, and She’s a Gamer and Foggy Note had a nice 4-furlong breeze in company Sunday morning, at Palm Meadows (see below). There is a possible entry for Foggy Note on February 26th at Gulfstream Park and we are hoping something comes up for She’s a Gamer on the upcoming overnights. Adversary has settled in well with the group at Palm Meadows and we will be looking for something for him in early March.
