• Giuliana Vee ran into a couple of buzz saws in her debut as the winner ran the race in an incredible 110.07, but tried every step of the way to finish 4th in a large, strung out field tonight at Penn National. The winning time would win stakes for 2 year old fillies in New York, and given the fact it was her debut and she was stuck deep on the rail throughout, it was a more than creditable effort.  She’s bred to run well longer and would expect a step forward next time off this effort. Would have loved to win or finish a close 2nd but all in all, not a bad beginning for this honest, sound filly.
  • New Found Treasure runs tomorrow at The Meadowlands. Good we scratched her from the race last week in favor of this much less competitive spot.
  • Everything finally good with Rapstorerocks after illness, superficial cuts, etc. detailed previously. Kelly plans to breeze him this weekend at Monmouth Park and if he does ok look for a spot to enter him in.
  • Solar iis doing excellent. The extra at The Meadowlands didn’t go but there’s a nice race in New York at the beginning of November if nothing comes up sooner. He’s ready anytime.
  • ShimmyShimmy Shake doing very well at Penn National with trainer Mark Salvaggio. She’s ‘out of jail’ (can run outside of Monmouth Park where she was claimed) on Oct. 27th. There’s an excellent spot for her in the book at Penn in the beginning of November.
  • Shake It Up Baby training at T-Square Stud and doing super. He’ll be ready to ship to Gulfstream Park to continue his training there with Kelly Breen shortly.
  • Magic Musketier good out of his last and will look for grass next time, had a decent work this week (below).
