Kenwood Racing welcomed co-owners George Katzenberger and Shannon Kelly, owners of “4K Equine LLC” as Kenwood partners as of July 1, 2017.  “George & Shannon became part of the Kenwood Racing family as co-owners in 2016” explained Kenwood founder and managing partner H. Robb Levinsky. “They have participated in virtually all of our co-owner groups since and George is a real student of the thoroughbred game. We felt they would be a great fit for our company and are delighted to have them join us as Kenwood partners”.

Originally from Essex County, NJ, George & Shannon presently live in Monmouth Beach with their son Matt and attend races at Monmouth Park regularly.  Shannon is  an executive in the financial services industry while George, who holds a PhD. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, after over 2 decades in the insurance industry is presently active with property renovation and management in Oceanport and Long Branch.

“Shannon is relatively new to Horse Ownership” George explained, “but I owned horses in the early 1990’s that raced at Freehold and Monmouth Park.  After attending one of the seminars (Kenwood founder) Robb hosted at Monmouth Park, the desire to get back in the business became strong.  We got to know the Kenwood Family and after spending time with the team at the Ocala Two Year Old sales this past March, we felt that becoming an owner of the company would be fun and exciting for our family”.

Kenwood’s unique “Taste of Thoroughbred Ownership®” program continues to experience dramatic growth and expects to welcome its 100^th co-owner to the Kenwood Racing family in 2017.
