Horse by Horse News

  • A lot to report since the last update.  First, we would like to thank the over 100 Kenwood Group Members and their Families and Friends who were able to attend our Annual Kenwood Racing picnic at Monmouth Park on NJ Thoroughbred Day.  The weather was picture perfect and it was exciting to have our two year old Red Head Italian entered in the last race of the day.  See the picture of the large number of Group 91 Members and their families in the paddock before the race.  She ran well but just couldn’t stay up at the end finishing a hard trying 4th.  We will be looking at another MSW at the Meadowlands towards the end of the month for her.
  • Outlaw Country ran back three weeks after we claimed him for $16,000, to win impressively by 2+ lengths against Claiming $40,000 competition on Saturday August 26th   (See Winner’s Circle picture). He has come out of the race in very well and is now 3 for 3 since switching from dirt to turf running three straight lifetime high Beyer Speed Figures of 69, 80 and 85.  There is a possible entry for him on Friday October 6th at the Meadowlands.  We will keep you posted when closer to entry day.
  • U Kant Whip It ran well in Race 2 at Penn National on August 30th finishing 3rd as he was squeezed in along the rail coming down the stretch but fought hard to the end.  He came back well from the race and is entered in Race 3 at Penn on Thursday September 7th with Tyler Conner aboard again.  He is 6-1 on the opening line.  Good luck to all Group 67 members, Trainer Mark Salvaggio and our partner Ralph Pastore.
  • Brit’s Candyman also ran a nice race on August 30th coming in second in the 1st race at Penn National.  He was claimed from us out of the race and we wish his new connections the best of luck with his next start.
  • Lisa’s Palace was a well beaten fifth after being dropped from MSW to the claiming ranks on August 25th.  She was claimed from us out of the race and we hope that she shows improvement for her new connections as some better showings in the future will bode well for our other Home-breds and Lisa Limon.
  • We are hoping for Miti Fast Flower to make the entries for a MSW at Monmouth Park this Saturday September 9th.  She has been training well and we are looking forward to her racing debut.  She had an easy breeze on Sunday in final preparation for the race.

  • Ellie's a Riotis well on the farm in Florida getting some rest and relaxation in preparation for the November sale.
  • Lisa Limon and her foals are well at Hidden Brook Farm.  The Vino Rosso filly will be travelling to Manuden Farm in Ocala to go through the breaking process with Nick and Jacqui de Meric and begin her training to become a race horse.
