General News

The horrible weather in the Northeast has caused multiple race cancellations for our horses and disrupted our planned schedule for viewing training tomorrow morning.  On top of that, Paco Lopez who was named to in two of our races was suspended yesterday morning a short time before he was scheduled to ride for us at Delaware Park.  All part of the challenges that trainers and owners face with scheduling and placing horses in proper races.

On a more pleasant note, Monmouth Park is once again offering a Viewing Party for the Breeder’s Cup from Santa Anita on Saturday November 4th and we have reserved some of the limited seating in the Turf Club.  If anyone is interested in attending, please let us know ASAP as it will be sold out shortly.  Admission is $45 per person and each person will be given a program, a $5 betting voucher and a very nice buffet available throughout the day.

  • Cali Heat is entered in race 5 tomorrow at Delaware Park a 5 ½ furlong MSW sprint on the main track.  Originally Paco Lopez was scheduled to ride, but as a result of his suspension, we have been able to secure Sammy Marin to take his place.  After showing some nice gate speed in his debut, we feel that he will have a good opportunity to get out of the gate and gain a nice position to try to break his maiden in this field of eight two year old colts.  Good luck to all Group 93 members and Trainer Kelly Breen.
  • Montauk Summer was scheduled to race this evening at the Meadowlands, but the race was cancelled due to the weather.  However, in anticipation of this happening, we were able to enter him in at Parx on Wednesday October 4th .  He had an easy work yesterday to stretch his legs and has continued to train well in the morning.  Exciting young rider Louis Rivera Jr will be aboard in a full field of 12 with one AE going a mile and seventy yards on the turf.  Hopefully the class relief will help and he can get back on track for a good outcome.  Good luck to all Group 90 ARC23 members and Trainer-Partner Kelly Breen.

  • Outlaw Country is doing great and we are looking at a Starter Allowance at Laurel Park in mid-October, as he has continued to train well in preparation for this slot.
  • Without a Net has recovered nicely after her 3rd place finish in her turf debut at The Meadowlands and we are hoping to get her in an entry at The Meadowlands before the meet is over.
  • Miti Fast Flower had a rough go of it in her debut, as we had to scramble to get a rider after Paco Lopez was suspended shortly before the race.  Breaking from the tough one post, we hoped that she would get out clean and stay near the lead, but she did not get a good break and ended up getting a lot of mud kicked up in her face and just did not keep up with the pack.  Definitely not the outcome that we were hoping for, but she did continue to run on through the wire and galloped out fine after the race.  She has come out of it in good shape and we are looking to get her right back in the entries in a few weeks.
  • U Kant Whip It has a possible entry next weekend at the Meadowlands and we will keep you posted if he is entered.
  • Ellie’s a Riot has been entered in the November Fasig- Tipton Sale in Kentucky and will go through the ring as Hip #2310 on Monday November 13th.  She will be shipped in to Hidden Brook Farm in Kentucky in the next few days.
  • Lisa Limon and her Connect foal are well at Hidden Brook Farm. The filly had a little cold last week, but has recovered well.   Her Vino Rosso filly has continued to progress while training at Manuden Farm.
