General News

A big day of entries coming up tomorrow as both Easy as A. B. C. and Appraisal will run at Laurel Park.  In addition, we still have some openings in our New York Claiming Group available for those who may be interested in the huge purses that are available for the Belmont at Aqueduct Meet.  Please let me know if you would like to hear about this opportunity ASAP as we are looking to begin the program shortly.

With the Breeder’s Cup just 5 weeks away we are planning on having a large Group at the Monmouth Park Viewing party described below by Monmouth Park’s Brian Skirka and the official announcement at the end of this email.  Tickets are $45 each and we will be purchasing a block of tickets for those who are interested.  We had the largest group in attendance the last time it was held in 2019 and hope to have a good showing this year as well.  Please let me know by Wednesday October 5th if you would like us to reserve a ticket for you.

I’m very happy to announce that our Breeders’ Cup Viewing Party is returning after a few years off. The event will be very similar to what you’ve attended in the past.

Date: Saturday, November 5
Time: 10am-6pm
Location: Turf Club
Price: $45 – same as 2019
Includes: $10 betting voucher, Breeders’ Cup program, Breeders’ Cup tip sheet

This is in addition to the 12-3pm lunch buffet. Soft drinks, water, coffee are included. Cash bar. For the full menu, go to https://www.monmouthpark.com/event/breeders-cup-viewing-party/

Tickets are currently on-sale online at www.seatgeek.com/monmouth. Please note, once your purchase goes through, you will NOT need the actual ticket. You can ignore everything about how to access your tickets. We’ll have a check-in list at the event.

This event has historically sold out. Please do not wait too long to purchase your tickets.

Horse by Horse News

  • Easy as A.B.C. is entered in Race 2 tomorrow at Laurel Park, which is carded for the turf, but with all the rain forecast for the area we believe that it will be run on the main track with a substantially reduced field from the original 12.  He has been training well and gets veteran rider Victor Carrasco in the irons in a bid to break his maiden.  Good luck to all Group 81 Members and Trainer Kelly Breen.
  • Appraisal is scheduled to run in Race 9 going 6 furlongs on the main track ar Laurel Park.  He has bounced back quickly after his impressive 2nd place finish just 2 weeks back in much tougher company.  Veteran Angel Suarez will ride in a short field of seven hoping to get a win in the Kenwood silks.  Good luck to all group 89 members and Trainer – Partner Kelly Breen.
  • Torn Jeans is fine out of her hard trying 4th last weekend and we will be looking for her next race in the coming weeks.
  • Both Ellie's a Riot and Without a Net are being given a little time off from track training to spend a month or so at Overbrook Farm to continue to mature and develop physically.
  • U Kant Whip It is happy at his winter quarters at Sunset Meadow Farm as he will be given a few months of turnout and then begin training again towards the end of February for the spring turf season in the Northeast.
  • At Hidden Brook farm Lisa Limon and her 2 foals are all doing well.
