  • U Kant Whip It had no excuse when trailing throughout today except not liking the dirt. He’d run well on the grass last time, grass racing is done in New York for the season, so we gave him a shot on the dirt today and he clearly didn’t care for it. Jockey Jose Lezcano said he protected him in the stretch, “the horse felt fine, no need to beat up on him and risk hurting him, he just hated the muddy track”. He seems totally sound and good out of the race so we’ll evaluate our options with him.
  • The Ghost of N Y was 5th today at Laurel Park. Really not a bad effort, made a run from well back to pass a few horses, just a bit overmatched against these as evidenced by his 30 to 1 odds coming off an impressive maiden win last time out. As mentioned previously we entered him 8 times and when none of them went for 2 weeks we took the race we could get here, a tough winner’s race coming off a weak maiden group in his win (which he did beat easily). We think at a little easier level at Penn National, he can get the money next time.
  • Fire's Finale fine out of his race this week and pointing towards an allowance in January at Penn National or Parx.
  • Street Facts breezed with Lasix last week and again today at Palm Meadows and worked great. He is ready to enter in the first race we can find at Gulfstream Park, Jan. 8th or 14th look like the most likely dates. We think the addition of Lasix should help Street Facts and would expect a good race from him.

  • Tracy Ann's Legacy is ready to enter and run. Hard a terrific work today at Palm Meadows and galloped well all week. While she may need a race to be at her best, she’s training very sharply now and we expect another big year with her. There’s a race Jan. 7th we are pointing for.
  • Charge Account is in New York and ready for her return. She had a terrific work last week and an easy work in the mud today and off of those will be entered in the next spot to run. There’s a couple of possible entries January 6 & 13th we are looking at. She’ll probably need the race off the layoff and return from the farm but it looks like she’s on track for another winning year for us in 2022.

Our 2022 Active Racing Club Program ARC2022 is set to begin. Thanks to all who have become club members. Our new managing partner (beginning Jan. 1st) Scott Schaub has been the point person for this program, working with George and Robb and the rest of the team on the structure. If anyone who could not attend our presentation last week is interested in hearing about it let us know and we will get the information to you but please don’t delay as we are just about full and set to go now

If you haven’t seen it yet, take a look at a recent TDN Writer’s Room interview with trainer Kenny McPeek, an exceptional trainer known for his success buying modestly priced horses and training them to win at the highest levels of the sport. He’s also one of the most ethical and capable horsemen you’ll ever find; an innovator and a force for positive change for our industry for decades.

A very happy, safe, healthy holiday season to everyone. May the horse be with all of you in the New Year. We are truly grateful to have you as a member of the Kenwood Racing family.
