Horse by Horse News

  • Some exciting news to share for this weekend, with our new 2YO Flameaway colt now named Cali Heat, is set to debut this Sunday at Monmouth Park!  He has been training great, and gets Jose Gomez in the irons amongst a tough looking group of nine 2YO first time starters.  He’s the third choice at 9-2 odds on the ML, and we’re looking forward to getting him into the starting gate for his debut! There is still one share available, so reach out today before it’s too late!  Don’t miss out on his unique opportunity to buy into a 2YO racehorse that is already entered to run two days later!
  • Fellow 2YO purchase from the OBS June Sale, our Mitole filly now named Miti Fast Flower put in her 5th consecutive breeze on Thursday this week, going 5 Furlongs for the first time, and gaining some additional conditioning heading into her potential debut, as early as next weekend!  It’s an exciting time for 2YO racing, and Miti Fast Flower has done everything asked of her to this point.  We just as excited to get her into the starting gate for her debut, soon enough!  Two shares remaining in Miti Fast Flower, who is close to racing and an equally exciting prospect for Kenwood Racing. She hails from a Champion family in Japan, and has been looking great on track in the mornings. Reach out today before the final 2YO shares sellout for the year!
  • Our Active Racing Club, ARC23, claimed the runaway winner of Race 3 last Friday at Monmouth Park, Outlaw Country, who is now 2 for 2 since switching to the grass. The 3YO Gelding by Good Samaritan is already a 4-time winner in just 13 career starts, on both dirt and turf, and we are looking forward to getting him back into the starting gate for us later this month. See the photo of ARC23 member, Tony, appearing to rub the “right spot” on Outlaw Country’s head, as he seemed quite content with staying right there!
  • Brit's Candyman had a gamely 3rd place finish on Tuesday night out at Penn National in the off-the-turf sprint, battling back after getting shutoff to lose by about ½ length, and showing his versatility on both dirt and turf.  With the all the rain we have been getting, it’s been nice to see Brit answer the bell on both surfaces, but we are hopeful his next start will STAY on the grass! Boston Princess is patiently awaiting her next start, and there is a potential entry for her on Sunday, for next Friday August 18th, that we are hopeful will go.  She was on track this morning for a gallop, and wanted to do more than the rider was allowing, so we’re looking forward to her next start.
  • Montauk Summer has been back galloping out of his disappointing finish last out, and we’ll be looking at a couple options later this month for him, with an eye on the Monmouth Park overnights since he is in claiming jail  until the end of the meet in September.
  • Our 3YO NJ Bred Without a Net has been doing well out of her debut race last month, and is targeting her next start in another NJ Bred MSW race on Saturday, August 19th.
  • Our 2YO NJ Bred, Red Head Italian has continued to progress out of her 4th Place effort last out, and we are targeting her next race for the following Sunday, August 27th, which is Monmouth Park’s NJ Racing Festival Day, as well as our Annual picnic!
  • LISA LIMON is doing well at Hidden Brook Farm in Kentucky, and in foal with a colt to the hot, young sire PRACTICAL JOKE.  Her CONNECT WEANLING FILLY has been weaned from her momma’s side, and living the horse-life with some other recently weaned babies in a new Paddock at Hidden Brook.  Her VINO ROSSO YEARLING FILLY is doing well still at Hidden Brook as well, and will be there through the Summer, with a target of shipping down to Ocala to begin the breaking process sometime in September/October.  Lisa Limon’s 2YO filly, Lisa's Palace, has been training great in Saratoga, and her 3YO colt, MY MAP, is now 5 for 6 lifetime, after winning a Stakes Race in Saudi Arabia two weeks ago, and winning the Saudi Arabia Jockey Club Award for the second year in a row!
  • Stable veteran U Kant Whip It has been training great and will hopefully get his next race within the next couple weeks, as we look for any turf sprint at local Mid Atlantic tracks to get him his next race, and take advantage of the last couple months of turf racing in the Northeast.
