Jersey Jules was a beautiful chestnut filly purchased by Kenwood Racing in the 2014 OBS March Selected Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training. By Scat Daddy filly out of Baytree by Forestry, she was purchased for $55,000 privately by Kenwood after failing to meet her reserve in the sales ring. Immediately a favorite in the barn she always got plenty of carrots, mints, and love in the morning during co-owner training visits. Jersey Jules earned just under $100,000 in purse money under Kenwood silks, with three impressive wins, including a thrilling allowance event with a generous $46,500 purse at Parx on April 4th 2015 by a nostril, with the top four horses separated by less than 1 length. It took a picture perfect ride by jockey John Bisono, who tracked the early leaders in 3rd most of the way, and a game effort by Jersey Jules to wear them down in the stretch while holding off the late closers to get the job done. A large and happy crowd of Kenwood supporters greeted Jules in the winner's circle, making for a happy day indeed. After a tough race when stopping badly after making the lead in the PARX Oaks on May 2nd 2015, Jules rebounded with a nice 2nd on June 4th in an allowance event at Pimlico Race course and a very game 3rd, beaten a neck for the win at Belmont Park on the grass on July 5th.  Jersey Jules career with Kenwood ended with her claim from a race on August 21st at Saratoga. Overall she was a profitable racehorse for Kenwood and her happy group of co-owners, who enjoyed seeing her run from New York – Florida for two seasons.  Jersey Jules was named by Kenwood co-owner Tony Guacci, after his daughter, and had this to say about her “The connection I had with Jules went beyond just naming her for my daughter.  The first time I visited her in the barn she put her head on my shoulder and let me rub her forehead.  Every time we visited the barn we made sure to spend time with Jules, and seeing her win in person at Parx in a battle down the stretch showed her heart and determination.  She will always be special to us and we will be looking for her offspring in the future.”

HERE is a video of Jules winning the allowance event at Parx in thrilling fashion on April 4th 2015.
